The 2nd XV hosted local rivals Shelford 3rds in the Cambridgeshire RFU Intermediate Cup, and went through to the next round with a four tries to three victory, Final score 23 - 15.
We saw a rare try in the corner from the silver fox James Robertson. Flankers Will Rix and Harry Hill looked very promising; but my man of the match was No 8, Ollie Dakin, who rampaged through the Shelford defence on more occasions than I could count. Throughout the Cantabs pack was well on top and dominated the scrums. Also good to see Charlie Searle back enjoying his rugby after a long break for injury; one jinking run around four flapping Peacck defenders was a true blast from the past. Shelford to their credit, continued to fight well to the end, and scored a late try to finish on a positive note.
The game was played in the right spirit and was a credit to both Clubs
